The McLeod County Board of Commissioners will meet Tuesday, March 31, at 9 a.m., and among agenda items is the possibility of reinstating the sheriff's department's K9 program.

Sheriff Scott Rehmann will be asking for County Board approval of $13,200 to buy a dog and train both the dog and a handler.

Also on the agenda are an update on the county's planned switch to a one-sort recycling plan, including the possibility of the city of Glencoe joining the county program, and the awarding of bids for summer highway department work.

Glencoe-Silver Lake Schools' first public forum regarding its proposed building bond is set for Monday, March 30, at 6:30 p.m., at the Helen Baker Elementary School in Glencoe.

The school district is proposing a $24 million building bond referendum that, if approved by voters on May 12, will close the Helen Baker school and add on to the high school and junior high school campus to accommodate students in kindergarten through second grade, as well as make improvements to the high school/junior high complex.

Anna (Mrs. Harold) Bauer, 94, of Gaylord, died Friday, March 20, 2015, at Oak Terrace Health Care Center in Gaylord.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 26, at 11 a.m., at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mountville, Dryden Township, Sibley County, with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 25, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Egesdal Funeral Home in Gaylord. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

LaDonna “Donna” March, 85, of Redwood Falls, formerly of Franklin, died Monday, March 16, 2015, at Parkview Home in Belview.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, March 20, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Raymond “Ray” Dietel, 88, of Lester Prairie, died Thursday, March 19, 2015, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 23, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. The Rev. Eric Nelson officiated. Jane Holasek was the organist, and congregational hymns were “Amazing Grace,” “How Great Thou Art” and “Abide With Me.”
