Mayor Wilson called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present: Schrupp, Neid, Alexander, Robeck and Lemke. Also present: City Administrator Mark Larson, City Attorney Mark Ostlund, Assistant City Administrator Dan Ehrke. Finance Director Trippel, PWDs Schreifels and Voigt.
Motion to approve consent agenda with correction to name change on liquor license renewal to Speedway, entered by member Lemke and seconded by member Neid. All members voted in favor.

GSL's super mileage team brings home third-place hardware

GSL's super mileage team recently returned home from Brainerd International Raceway with a pair of third-place trophies. The team's members include (from left) Isaac Swift, Anna Salgado, Marcus Fleck, Adam Garouette and Jon Ramige.

Glencoe-Silver Lake Panther Art Prowl

Abby Maunu was recognized at Glencoe-Silver Lake school's Art Prowl for "Best of Show" for her collection of artwork. The vase with the purple ribbon on it was titled "Up North."

Trap team closes out regular season

Glencoe-Silver Lake's Katie Collins claimed the top spot in the state with a 22.80 average in the female division. GSL finished third in the conference.

Panthers smash Royals in baseball playoff opener

Glencoe-Silver Lake pitcher Drew Hedtke allowed one earned run over six innings as the Panthers defeated Watertown-Mayer 8-1 in the opening game of the Section 5AAA playoffs on Thursday., May 23.

Fundraising for City Center restroom completion begins

Former city councilors Dan Perschau and Gary Ziemer are working on a fundraising effort to raise money to complete the bathrooms at the west end of the Glencoe City Center.

Rock, paper, scissors

Second-grader Makayla Frieler (left) and John Terwey, a fifth-grader, were the finalists in an all-school-district rock-paper-scissors contest at Friday afternoon's celebration assembly at the high school.

Trap team closes out regular season

The Glencoe-Silver Lake trapshooting team ended its 2019 regular season in fifth place, pulling ahead of Braham High School and Lewiston-Altura. Alden-Conger High School took first.
After the final week of competition, several Panther girls made it into the top 25 of Class 3A Conference 3.
Mia LaPlante finished the season in a two-way tie for 5th place with a 20.20 average. Katie Collins finished in eighth place with a 19.90 average.
