Glencoe Days has rolled with ebbs and flows of time

As Glencoe’s premier city celebration enters its 50th year under the title of Glencoe Days, the community’s collective memory may look back on the years of city celebrations and reflect on what’s new, what’s evolved and what stayed the same.
Glencoe Days, formerly known as Glencoe Fun Days and StueberFest, has been sponsored by various local businesses, maybe most notably Seneca, formerly Green Giant, which has sponsored a corn on the cob feed for the entire 50 years of Glencoe Days.

The celebration will offer a full day of live music both Friday evening and throughout Saturday.

Staff Writer

But at Hueser Grain, the agricultural business in Glencoe that Hueser operates, about a year after the president imposed tariffs on China, faith in the president has dwindled to zero.

Summers in Minnesota are a time when small communities like Glencoe, Silver Lake, Brownton and New Auburn celebrate what makes them special places to live, raise a family, work and play. Community festivals are one of the many summertime events adding to the quality of life in Glencoe.

Letter to editor: Rep. Gruenhagen’s letter on ‘Green New Deal’ misleading

To the editor,
Rep. Gruenhagen’s letter to the editor (Chronicle, June 12) opposing the Green New Deal is at least very misleading.
The Green New Deal is a resolution. It is not a bill, legislation or policy proposal that requires a vote. Our representative tries to paint the picture (again) that he and his fellow Republicans rode up on white horses to save us from those dastardly Democrats who are trying to increase our utility bills.
