He’ll spend untold amount of time online searching for the right car, drive to South Dakota or Nebraska to bring it home, commit dozens and dozens of hours preparing the vehicle to potentially be transformed into a twisted heap of steel in about 20 minutes.
On the surface, Mark Lindemann admits, demolition derby makes no sense whatsoever. Then again, he’s more interested in crashing cars than spreadsheets. Sunday, Aug. 4, 1:30 p.m., he’ll be competing in the Sibley County Fair’s demo derby at the fairgrounds in Arlington.
“It’s an expensive hobby, but it’s a lot of fun,” he said.
