St. Cloud State University has announced its spring  semester dean’s list. Local students who earned spots on the dean’s list and their majors include: Carolin Goebel, accounting, Brownton; and Tate Lilienthal, communication arts and literature, and Tyler Raduenz, studio art, both of Glencoe.

Brandon Ebert, son of Joseph and Michele Ebert of Silver Lake, received the Agribusiness Outstanding Student Award for 2016-17 from the Ridgewater College, Willmar Campus, Agriculture Department at its awards banquet April 3. Recently named to the North Dakota State University  (NDSU) spring dean’s list were Mackenzie Matousek, strategic communication, Mitchell Rothstein, accounting and Tristan Weber, construction management, all of Glencoe, and Russell Bayerl, mechanical engineering, and Joshua Yurek, mechanical engineering, both of Silver Lake.

Devin Fleck and Leah Peterson, both of Glencoe, and Emily Hackbarth of Silver Lake, were among students named to Phi Theta Kappa at Ridgewater College. Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society for two-year colleges and recognizes students for their academic achievements as well as leadership, service and scholarship.

South Dakota State University recently announced that Kirsten Barott of Glencoe will receive the Wayne and Jacquie Anderson Scholarship for the upcoming academic year. Barott, a graduate of Glencoe-Silver Lake High School, will be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in agricultural education, communication and leadership.

Jamie and Kassi Uecker of Litchfield announce the birth of a daughter, Elayna Mae Uecker, who arrived May 5, 2017, at Glencoe Regional Health Services. Elayna weighed 7 pounds, 6.8 ounces, and was 20 inches long at birth. Grandparents are Quint and Dody Fransen of Stewart, Gayle Howe of Hutchinson and Karmen Uecker of Federal Dam.
