Four area students graduated from South Dakota State University (SDSU) after the fall 2016 session. They include Bryce Lindeman, Brownton, Bachelor of Science (BS) in agriculture and biological sciences; Jenna Haag, Glencoe, cum laude, BS in agriculture and biological sciences; Kassandra Mackenthun, Glencoe, BS in arts and sciences; and Kati Mathews, BS in nursing.

On April 22-23, two Glencoe-Silver Lake band students representing the seventh-grade and concert bands will be members of the 2017 Minnesota Band Directors Association (MBDA) state level honor bands held at Chanhassen High School. Several local students were named to the Minnesota State University Mankato fall semester 2016 high honor and honor lists. Christopher Lemke, son of Jonathan and Mary Lemke of Glencoe, was named to the Augsburg College dean’s list for fall semester 2016. He is studying biology and chemistry at the college, and is involved in football, is a member of the Football Leadership Board, and is on the Student Council for Athletics.
