3 applications received for Silver Lake police chief job
The Silver Lake City Council learned that three applications have been received for the open police chief position as of the council meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 19.
The Council established a hiring committee that will consist of the Council’s public safety liaison, Nolan Johnson, Councilor Brenda Fogarty and City Clerk Kerry Venier.
The committee will review all of the applications, select the candidates to be interviewed, hold interviews and make the hiring recommendation to the Council.
A police chief from a neighboring community also will be asked to assist with the interviews.
The position will be posted until Thursday, Jan. 28. The committee would like to have a recommendation by the next regular council meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 22.
