3 injured in 2-vehicle accident on Sunday
A Glencoe teenager and two people from Morton were injured Sunday at about 4:15 p.m. in a two-vehicle crash in the area of Highway 212 and Chandler Avenue in Glencoe.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Peyton D. Sell, 16, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado eastbound on Highway 212, and a 1993 Lincoln Continental, driven by John J. Colwell, 67, of Morton, was westbound on Highway 212 when the two collided.
Sell and Colwell were both taken by ambulance to the Glencoe hospital, as was 72-year-old Mary F. Teed of Morton, a passenger in Colwell’s vehicle.
Sell and Colwell both suffered what were considered to be non-life-threatening injuries, while Teed had serious injuries.
The Colwell vehicle was totalled; the Sell vehicle was considered to be heavily damaged.
All of the vehicles’ occupants were wearing seat belts, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash, according to the State Patrol.
Assisting at the accident were the Glencoe Fire Department, Glencoe Police Department, Glencoe Ambulance and the McLeod County Sheriff’s Office.
