Aaron Alsleben, 71, of Glencoe

Aaron Edwin Alsleben, 71, of Glencoe, passed away Sunday, April 7, at Cedar Crest Estates in Silver Lake.
A private family memorial service was held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glencoe.
Pastor Jon Niebuhr was the officiating clergy.
Jan Heins was the organist. “How Great Thou Art,” “On Eagle’s Wings,” and “Jesus Loves Me” were the congregational hymns.
Aaron Edwin Alsleben was born Feb. 12, 1948, in Glencoe. He was the son of Ernest and Lorene (Penk) Alsleben. Aaron was baptized as an infant March 7, 1948, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe and later was confirmed in his faith as a youth June 10, 1962, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glencoe. He received his education in Glencoe, graduating from Stevens Seminary.
Aaron was united in marriage to Carol Randt in Watertown, S.D. Feb. 22, 1969. He and Carol made their home in Glencoe. Their life was blessed with two children, Brenda and Darron. Aaron and Carol shared over 50 years of marriage.
Mr. Alsleben was a lifelong farmer. He also was a DHIA supervisor for McLeod County. He lived for farming. Mr. Alsleben enjoyed dancing to old-time music, snowmobiling with his Artic Cat and participated in tractor pulls, winning numerous trophies. He cherished the time spent with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
Mr. Alsleben passed away Sunday, April 7, at Cedar Crest Estates in Silver Lake, at the age of 71 years, 1 month and 26 days. Blessed be his memory.
Mr. Alsleben is survived by his wife, Carol Alsleben of Glencoe; daughter, Brenda Kraemer and her husband, Randy, of Glencoe; son, Darron Alsleben and his wife, Tami, of Glencoe; grandchildren, Faith Larson and her husband, Derek, Ashlei Kraemer, Dustin Kraemer, Drew Alsleben, Calvin Alsleben; great-grandchildren, Brooke Pollmann, Theo Larson;
Siblings, Andrew Alsleben, Arlene Groskreutz and her husband, Bob, Anita Renstrom, Arnold Alsleben and his wife, Shirley, Amy McKnight and her husband, Bill, Angela Lohrenz and her husband, Wes, Adam Alsleben and his wife, Wanda, Alan Alsleben; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Janice Henning and her husband, Larry, Miriam Randt, Gary Randt and his wife, Becky, Sharon Fox and her husband, Mike, Cindy Randt, Chuck Randt and his wife, Linda, Jane Randt and her friend, Dave Zimmerman, Darryl Randt; nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.
Mr. Alsleben was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Lorene Alsleben; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry and Ruth Randt; brothers-in-law, David Randt, Randy Randt.
