Arnold D. Hanson, 80, of Faribault
Arnold “Arnie” D. Hanson, 80, of Faribault, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 7, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Faribault, with interment at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault, with military rites by the Rice County Central Veterans Association.
Arnold D. Hanson, son of Christ and Marie (Thiesfelt) Hanson, was bon May 6, 1936, in Glencoe. He graduated from Glencoe High School in 1954 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He married June Favre on June 7, 1958, in Glencoe. He was previously employed with FMC, Northern Ordnance Division, Fridley, until his retirement, and was an active member of American Legion Post 43, Faribault.
He is survived by a daughter, Lynn Stenstrom of Rochester; two grandchildren, Michael (Amanda) Stenstrom of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Amanda “Panda” Stenstrom of Northfield; four sisters, Aurelia Werth of Glencoe, Clara Witthus of Glencoe, Mary Olson of Paynesville and Doris Emich of Nicollet; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hanson of Mound, Peggy Favre of Bloomington, Joni Favre of Excelsior, Evon (Dave) Ask of Faribault and Ginny (Jerry) Robicheau of Faribault; brother-in-law, Don Mackenthun of Fridley; special friends, Jim, Linda, Grace and Linda; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, June; twin sister in infancy, Arlene; brother, Clarence Hanson; and sister, Lucille Herzog.
