Betty Ann Heuer, 71, of Litchfield

Betty Ann Heuer
Betty Ann Heuer, 71, of Litchfield, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, at her home.
 
Memorial services were held Saturday, March 5, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Plato. The Rev. David Markworth officiated. Yvonne Schuette was the organist. Congregational hymns were “Rock of Ages,” “My Hope is Built on Nothing Less” and “Just As I Am, Without One Plea.”
 
Betty Ann Heuer was born Oct. 17, 1944, in Brandenburg, Kentucky, the daughter of George Jr. and Dorothy (Fletcher) Ohmann. She was baptized as an infant on Dec. 3, 1944, was confirmed in her faith as a youth on May 17, 1959, at Christ Lutheran Church LCMS in Eagan, and has been a lifelong Lutheran. She received her education in Rosemount, and graduated with the Rosemount High School class of 1963.
 
On Aug. 9, 1969, she was united in marriage to Don Heuer at Christ Lutheran Church in Eagan. Their marriage was blessed with one son, Troy. The couple resided in Eagan, Savage, rural Rosemount, rural New Prague and, most recently, in Litchfield. They shared 46 years of marriage.
 
After graduation, she worked at the Valley National Bank in Eagan, the Savage State Bank, Suburban Bank, and the Associate Bank in Savage. She most recently worked at the Americinn as a night auditor and receptionist until 2011. She attended St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills. She was a member of the New Prague American Legion Unit 45. She was a life member of #209 of the Rosemount VFW Post 9433 Auxiliary.
 
Mrs. Heuer loved sewing and embroidery until arthritis set into her fingers. She enjoyed flowers as she and her husband visited many local flower gardens. She liked to listen to country western music, and watch “Family Feud” and western TV shows. She especially cherished spending time with her family and friends.
 
She is survived by her husband, Don Heuer of Litchfield; son, Troy Heuer of Grove City; sisters, Carol Veness of Bloomington and Sandra (Armond) Krech of Eagan; brothers, Donald (Ruth) Ohmann of Eagan, Steven (Barbara) Ohmann of Jordan and Kevin Ohmann of Montgomery; 12 nieces and nephews; 14 great nieces and nephews; godmother of five; many cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Jr. and Dorothy Ohmann; grandparents, George and Minnie Ohmann and Ernest and Alice Fletcher; and brother-in-law, Robert Veness.
