Blue Jays drop a tough one
In a modified season where the young Plato Blue Jays are still looking for their offensive stride, a solid pitching outing is especially valuable. Losing an extra-inning game on a home run hurts.
But that’s how things have gone for the Blue Jays so far this summer. Plato fell to Winsted, 4-3, in 10 innings Sunday, July 5. The setback pushes Plato to 0-5.
The Blue Jays returned to the diamond last night, July 7, against Watertown. Details were unavailable when The Chronicle went to press. The Blue Jays will hit the road to face New Germany Saturday, July 11, 11 a.m. They’ll be at Brownton Sunday, July 12, 2 p.m., before making the short drive to venerable Vollmer Field to face Glencoe Wednesday, July 15, 7:30 p.m.
