Boys’ hoops fall to Dragons
It was a light week for the Glencoe-Silver Lake boys’ basketball team – and not a winning one, either.
The Panthers suffered from a bout of poor shooting in their lone game last week, losing 57-34 at Litchfield on Friday, Feb. 8.
After losing by 17 points to the Dragons at home on Jan. 11, GSL suffered a 23-point setback in the follow-up meeting between the teams as the second round of Wright County Conference West competition began.
Gabe Roepke led the Panthers with six points, while fellow forwards Mitchel Jaskowiak and Jaden Uecker scored five points each.
The loss dropped GSL to 10-9 overall and 3-4 in WCC West play as this week began.
The Panthers were scheduled to play at Mound Westonka on Tuesday, Feb. 12, after the Chronicle went to press.
It is set to be a heavy stretch for GSL, with the team slated to host Rockford on Friday night before embarking on a four-game road trip with a game at Dassel-Cokato Monday night.
Monday’s matchup against the Chargers is a makeup of a previously postponed contest. The Panthers are also scheduled to play at New London-Spicer on Tuesday.
