Boys’ hoops takes down Royals again
A road win and a home loss last week gave the Glencoe-Silver Lake boys’ basketball team a 9-13 overall record heading into the final four-game stretch of the regular season.
The Panthers earned back-to-back wins for the first time since the opening week of the season by claiming a 62-53 triumph at Watertown-Mayer on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
That win, combined with a 55-36 win vs. Litchfield four nights previous, gave GSL consecutive victories for the first time since the Panthers commenced the 2017-18 season by upending St. Peter, Tri-City United and Hutchinson.
Four GSL players hit double digits in scoring as the Royals completed a sweep of the Royals with the win in Watertown.
Forward Kyle Christensen led all scorers in the contest with 17 points, while guard Dane Schwirtz notched 16 points. Forwards Gabe Roepke and Austin Barrett put up 11 points apiece.
