Boys' golf takes full advantage of weather
The high school golf season is a sprint from start to finish and the Glencoe-Silver Lake boys’ team has already passed the halfway point of its spring.
Last week, the Panthers took full advantage of the weather to get in a trio of competitions, including an invitational on its home course.
GSL placed eighth in a Wright County Conference West matchup, hosted by Watertown-Mayer, at Timber Creek Golf Course on Tuesday, May 2.
Christian Higgins led the way on the nine-hole day with a score of 47. Jayden Lachermeier was next at 48, followed by Nick Schmidt at 49 and Reid VanHove at 53. Damien Silus scored at 54 and Ethan Wraspir a 59.
In the Senya Invitational at Glencoe Country Club on Wednesday, May 3, the Panthers placed fifth with an 18-hole team score of 392.
