Brewers best A’s in 10
An 8-6 win in 10 innings at Arlington on Saturday, May 9, gave the Glencoe Brewers their second victory in a row and improved the team to 3-1 on the season heading into a 12-day break.
The Brewers got on the board in a big way against the A’s, posting a five-run first inning. However, the hosts chipped away and turned the deficit into a 6-5 lead by the end of the fifth inning.
Glencoe tied the game at 6-6 in the seventh as manager/designated hitter Stephen Wiblemo singled home third baseman Colt Trebesch. The eighth and ninth passed without any further scoring as the game moved into extra innings.
Or make that extra inning.
The Brewers surged back into the lead in the first added frame as right fielder Tony Paggen drove home Wiblemo and then was in turn plated on a two-out single by shortstop Teddy Petersen. Petersen was 3-for-6 with one RBI and one run scored in the game.
