Brewers fall to Cardinals and Blue Jays

A pair of setbacks last week dropped the Glencoe Brewers to 11-10 overall this season as the team heads into the final trio of regular season games looking to squelch its current three-game losing streak.
Young America dropped a 5-1 loss on the Brewers on Tuesday, July 11 at Vollmer Field, propelling itself to victory via a four-run second inning despite being out-hit by the hosts 7-6.
Glencoe starting pitcher Jaime Paumen took the loss after tossing eight innings of six-hit, one-walk ball. Three of the five runs scored against him were earned and he struck out four batters.
The Brewers did not muster up a run until the eighth, when Mason Goettl drove home Colt Trebesch with an RBI single as part of a 3-for-4 day at the plate.
Trebesch went 2-for-4 with two singles as none of Glencoe’s hits went for extra bases.
