Brewers fall at Green Isle

The Glencoe Brewers suffered their second loss of the season in a 4-1 setback at Green Isle on Sunday, May 15. The loss dropped Glencoe to 4-2 overall and 2-2 in Crow River Valley League play.

Green Isle put up two runs in both the fourth and sixth innings to take a 4-0 lead before Mason Goettl hit a solo home run in the seventh to account for all of the Brewers’ scoring on the day.

Goettl had three of Glencoe’s four hits in the game, with Derek Weber claiming the other base knock as the Brewers had a hard time getting anything going off Green Isle’s pitching duo of Lucas Herd and Alex Twenge.

Cole Petersen took the loss for Glencoe after going four innings in his start. He allowed three hits and two earned runs with seven walks and three strikeouts.
