Brewers win at Glencoe Days

Brody Bratsch’s two-out RBI single plated Travis Rothstein with the winning run as the Glencoe Brewers rallied to defeat visiting Brownton 3-2 as the teams matched up at Glencoe Days on Friday, June 23.

The two teams were locked in a scoreless pitcher’s duel through five innings before Brownton broke through with two runs in the top of the sixth against Glencoe starter Jaime Paumen.

Teddy Petersen answered for the Brewers with a sacrifice fly that scored Derek Bratsch in the bottom of the sixth, but the home side still trailed heading into the bottom of the ninth.

Derek Weber and Paxton Jordahl — Rothstein pinch-ran – both worked out walks to open the frame, with Jacob Popelka being intentionally walked to load the bases with one out.

Weber then scored the tying run on an error before an infield flyout had Glencoe down to its final chance.
