Brownton City Council rescinds decisions on carports, utilities, rental
The Brownton City Council spent a good chunk of a well-over-3-hour Aug. 4 meeting changing decisions it had made at its July meeting.
Those decisions were made in regard to providing water and sewer service to a property outside the city limits, the use of canvas carports and the renting of the community center to a group that wants to conduct religious services there.
Utility services
Christine Kesler appeared before the City Council asking it to consider providing water and sewer service that she and her husband, Jeremiah, recently purchased on the west of edge of Brownton near Lake Addie.
The property had previously belonged to Katz & Glieden, a masonry firm, which includes a house and a couple of sheds.
Kesler said her family wants to sell their current home, which is located near the former Katz & Glieden property, and convert the largest shed on the property into a combination home and equipment shed.
