Brownton falls to Winsted
The Brownton Bruins missed out on a chance to hit the .500 mark with a 4-2 loss to visiting Winsted on Thursday, June 30.
Brownton entered the game at 8-9 overall, but could not break even on the season as the Wildcats never trailed after scoring a lone run in the top of the first inning.
Winsted held a 3-0 edge into the bottom of the third inning before the Bruins got on the board via a solo home run by Josh Dietz.
Dietz swung the big stick for Brownton in the contest, going 4-for-5 on the day, but the Bruins would not draw closer than the two-run deficit.
Winsted added one more tally in the fourth inning before a one-out, bases-loaded walk to Dylan McCormick plated Brad Daak with the Bruins second tally in the bottom of the ninth.
