Bruins face Mayer in playoffs
Brownton had hoped to enter the Crow River Valley playoffs on a roll, claiming victories in its final two games.
The Bruins fell in their final two games. They lost to Watertown, 3-0, and wrapped up the league season with a 5-1 setback against the Hollanders in Cologne.
The No. 8-seeded Bruins opened the best-of-three opening round of the playoffs last night, July 28, against No. 9-seed Mayer at Winsted. Brownton will host the Blazers tomorrow night, July 30, 7:30 p.m. If a third game is necessary, it will likely be played Sunday, Aug. 2, 2 p.m in Brownton.
The Bruins topped Mayer, 3-1, in their only meeting this season.
