Buffalo Creek BMX Track celebrates 10 years of racing

In 2007, Ryan Voss ran an ad in the local newspaper looking for volunteers to help build a bicycle motocross (BMX) track in Glencoe. Saturday, Sept. 22, Voss, Wade Drew and Mark Janke stopped by to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the BMX track they helped build.
“We met at the old library,” Drew said, one of the two men who showed up to see what Voss's idea was all about.
It took about a year for Voss, Drew and Janke to lead the planning and construction of the BMX track through the planning and construction phases on land once owned by the Glencoe Creamery. Land was donated, material for the track was donated and the City of Glencoe agreed to accept the facility as a city park.
Saturday, BMX enthusiasts from the past and present celebrated the Buffalo Creek BMX Track's birthday.
