Carol Schugg, 80, Waconia

Carol J. Schugg, age 80, of Waconia passed away on Thursday, Oct. 12, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, Oct. 21, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Community (41 East First Street) in Waconia with Father Bob Hart as Celebrant of the Mass.
Visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at the Church. Interment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery after the Mass. The service will be live-streamed on the Church's Facebook page. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Joseph Catholic School.
Carol June Schugg was born on June 13, 1943 in Moose Lake, Minn. the only daughter of Raymond and Edna Folz. Carol worked her entire career at New York Life in Bloomington. Carol was united in marriage to Ted Schugg on June 9, 1990, at St. Richard’s Catholic Church in Richfield. Carol was very active in the Waconia community after moving from Bloomington. Carol loved to quilt and sew for her church community at St. Joseph’s. She took many annual fishing trips to Canada with Ted and friends. Carol loved her many nieces and nephews as if they were her own children.
Carol’s last three years were difficult after the love of her life passed away. Her faith in God along with the support of her Church community made a big difference in her life the last few years. She always closed a conversation with everyone by saying “I love you guys”. Family was the light of Carol’s life. She never missed a family holiday event, birthday, or graduation. She will be greatly missed by all of us. Our only consolation with losing her is knowing she is now with Ted.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Edna Folz; brother Bruce Folz; and husband Ted Schugg.
She is survived by her loving family: sisters-in-law Judy Folz of Stillwater and Lynn (Virgil) Schauer of Glencoe; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia. www.johnsonfh.com.
