City council mulls Glencoe street overlays through ‘24
With significant street work primarily limited to the Morningside Drive corridor and East 10th Street this year, the city council is weighing a proposal to take care of aging streets elsewhere in the city through 2024.
During a workshop Monday, March 8, the city council heard a proposal for Short Elliott Hendrickson (SEH) for nearly $3.3 million in locally funded street maintenance plan that would address streets that have long been waiting for attention. The work could potentially delay a need for more significant, and expensive, street reconstruction. The proposal for work in 2021 would likely have to go out for public bidding later this spring in time for work later in the summer.
