City questions cost of WWTP project
After last week’s workshop session concerning the city’s proposed $23 million wastewater treatment plant expansion and renovations, John Rodeberg, city engineering consultant from Short Elliott Hendrickson (SEH), presented a memo addressing concerns raised by City Council members.
At Monday night’s City Council meeting, Rodeberg elaborated on the costs and funding of the local project after concerns were raised that other communities were building new treatment plants for less cost than Glencoe’s renovations and expansion.
He also addressed council members suggestions that the city get a second opinion on the proposed project, or do “value engineering” to verify the project’s scope and costs.
