Congratulations GSL Class of 2023

I would like to take this time to congratulate the graduating class of 2023. May the next phase of your life be filled with joy, happiness, and prosperity. Life will certainly have its challenges, but with the lessons you’ve learned both in and out of the classroom, I’m confident you will thrive.
It’s hard to believe another school year has concluded. I find that they seem to go by faster and faster with each passing year. I’m very proud to be a part of this great school district and look forward to the start of next year. While I won’t wish away summer, as that season will go by fast as well, I can’t wait to get started with a new school year. Bring on the 2023-2024 school year.
Recently GSL qualified to become an Achievement and Integration School District. This means that our population of a protective class is disproportional to that of a neighboring school district. School District’s that quality can create a plan on how they can provide opportunities for ALL students with different learning experiences, getting extra help, building more relationships, etc. etc. GSL will be receiving dollars from the state to help fund this program. This is not money from our general fund and will not go against our fund balance. This is a positive program for GSL that we will be in for a minimum of 3 years. The School District will continue to monitor the numbers and will be a part of the program as long as we qualify.
Overall, this has been a great school year. I want to thank for staff and students for the hard work, the great learning opportunities, and the many memories created along the way. Once again, congratulations to the Class of 2023! Thank you for being awesome!
