County planning commission favors denial of solar gardens
Citing the rationale that prime farmland in McLeod County should preserved regardless of what landowners wish to do with it, the county planning advisory commission rejected two proposals for solar gardens in Winsted Township.
The advisory board voted unanimously Wednesday, Nov. 18, to recommend the county board deny applications for conditional-use permits for two separate applications Nokomis Energy filed for 1-megawatt solar gardens. The county board is scheduled to address the two applications at its Dec. 15 meeting.
