Cross-Country squads run at Smith Invitational
The Glencoe-Silver Lake boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams began their post-Labor Day schedule with an annual appearance in the Gerry Smith Invitational at Montgomery National Golf Club on Thursday, Sept. 6.
GSL finished 10th in the 22-team girls’ race, while the boys took 17th in their 28-team contest.
Malayh Metcalf led the Panther girls by placing 28th individually out of 175 finishers in a time of 20 minutes, 47.9 seconds.
Maddie Lemke was 42nd overall in 21:20.1, with Kendall Guerrero taking 47th in 21:27.8.
