Cyrus ‘Cy’ Loncorich, 56, of Brownton
Cyrus “Cy” Loncorich, 56, of Brownton, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, at his home.
The funeral service was held Saturday, Aug. 26, at Grace Lutheran Church in Brownton with the Rev. Andy Hermodson-Olsen officiating. Vicki Herrmann was the organist.
Casket bearers were Matt Loncorich, Hadeon Loncorich, Corbin Loncorich, Bob Lindeman, Tom Bebo and Mark Schuette. Honorary casket bearers were his grandchildren, and nieces Haylee and Rachel Loncorich. Interment will be at a later date in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery in Brownton.
Cyrus “Cy” Loncorich was born July 27, 1961, in Glencoe, the son of Henry and Donna (Winterfeldt) Loncorich. He was baptized as an infant in Hutchinson and was confirmed in his faith as a youth at Grace Lutheran Church in Brownton. He received his education in Brownton, and was a graduate of the Brownton High School class of 1979.
On Feb. 22, 1997, he was united in marriage to Sherrie Potter at Grace Lutheran Church in Brownton. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Crystal, Hadeon and Corbin. The family resided at Lake Marion, Collins Township. They shared 16 years of marriage before Sherrie Loncorich’s death on Wednesday, July 17, 2013.
Mr. Loncorich worked at Seneca Foods Corporation in Glencoe as a forklift driver for 36 years.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Brownton. He also was a board member of the Brownton Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially participating in fishing tournaments. He also enjoyed his dogs, Legion baseball, high school sports and bowling. He especially cherished spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.
He is survived by his children, Crystal (Kyle) Peik of Hutchinson, Hadeon (Brittany) Loncorich of Otsego and Corbin Loncorich of Brownton; grandchildren, Keaton, Kolden and Klayton Peik and Xander, Hadleigh, Paisleigh and Lilleigh Loncorich; mother, Donna Loncorich of Brownton; special friend, Jerry Farenbaugh of Brownton; brother, Matt (Jeannine) Loncorich of New Auburn; nieces, Haylee and Rachel Loncorich; special friend, Brenda Zellmann of New Auburn; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherrie Loncorich; father, Henry Loncorich; and granddaughter, Scarlett Mae Loncorich.
