Darlene Erna Raduenz, 78, of Glencoe

Darlene Erna Raduenz, 78, of Glencoe, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care.
Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday, Aug. 9,) at 11 a.m., at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe with the Rev. Peter Adelsen officiating. Luke Dahl will be the organist, and congregational hymns are “Rock of Ages,” “Amazing Grace” and “The Lord is My Shepherd.”
Honorary casket bearers are Mrs. Raduenz’ great-grandchildren. Casket bearers are Nic Raduenz, Nathan Raduenz, Jennifer Silva, Jonas Raduenz, Cory Raduenz, Lorelei Raduenz and Madison Silva. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Darlene Erna (Wacker) Raduenz was born May 14, 1939, in Green Isle, the daughter of Emil and Louise (Baessler) Wacker. She was baptized as an infant on May 27, 1939, by the Rev. Rattmann, and was confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 21, 1953, by the Rev. Arndt, both at Zion Lutheran Church in Green Isle. She was educated at a country school.
On Oct. 12, 1956, she was united in marriage to Darwin Raduenz by the Rev. Malotky at the church parsonage in Green Isle. Their marriage was blessed with five children, Roger, Linda, Gary, Kevin and Kathy. She grew up in Green Isle and Arlington. The couple moved to Glencoe in 1960 and then, in 1965, made their home on their hobby farm. They shared over 55 years of marriage before Mr. Raduenz’ death on Feb. 21, 2012.
Mrs. Raduenz was a housewife while her children were growing up. She was then employed at Green Giant, Tonka Toys and in the dietary department at Glencoe Regional Health Services. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe.
Mrs. Raduenz enjoyed her cats, crocheting, gardening, word puzzles and spending time up north, where she had land. She especially cherished the time spent with her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Roger Raduenz of Glencoe; Linda (Mike) Tassinari of Glencoe, Gary (Diane) Raduenz of Glencoe, Kevin Raduenz (girlfriend Donna) of Glencoe, and Kathy Raduenz of Willmar; grandchildren, Lorelei Raduenz of Glencoe, Jennifer Silva of Glencoe, Nathan (Becca) Raduenz of Little Falls and Nic (Crissy) Raduenz of Litchfield; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Laverne Lehmberg of Glencoe, Helen Quast of Arlington and Janice (Bob) Shaughnessy of Belle Plaine; brother, Donald (Marlys) Wacker of Glencoe; sisters-in-law, Erma Pagel of Glencoe and Karen Cheever of Glencoe; brothers-in-law, Elmer (Marlys) Raduenz of Plato and Dennis (Sandy) Raduenz of Hutchinson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Louise Wacker; husband, Darwin Raduenz; grandson, Joseph Skelton; granddaughter, Stephanie Raduenz; sisters, Dora Mueller, Elvera Mathwig and Rosella Hardel; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
