Duvall says house foundation work should be done by July 1
Erik Duvall told the Glencoe Planning Commission exactly what it wanted to hear Thursday night, May 9.
The owner of the house-on-blocks at 1304 Sunrise Drive promised the commission he would have the house, weather permitting, on a foundation with back-filling work completed by July 1, when the sewer and water hookups are completed. He also said the requisite landscaping around the foundation would likely be completed during June.
“She might even have a garden going,” Duvall said. “It’s going to look like somebody lives there.”
The commission considered revoking the special-use permit that allowed Duvall to move the 40-ton house from nearby farmland to the cul-de-sac on the north side of the TC&W Railroad tracks east of North Union Avenue. The commission also considered revoking the building permit for the foundation work.
