Eunice RaNaye Lewis, 78, of Glencoe

Eunice RaNaye (Lenzen) Lewis, 78, of Glencoe, died Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care.
 
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 23, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe with the Rev. Daniel Welch officiating.
 
Dawn Wolter was the organist. Soloist Justin Rierson sang “How Great Thou Art.” Congregational hymns were “Beautiful Savior,” “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me.”
 
Interment was in the First Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Glencoe.
 
Eunice RaNaye (Lenzen) Lewis was born Feb. 17, 1937, in Young America, the daughter of Raymond and Wilhelmine (Exsted) Lenzen. She was baptized as an infant on March 7, 1937, and was confirmed in her faith as a youth on March 18, 1951, both by the Rev. Kramer at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America. She was educated in Norwood Young America, attending St. John’s Christian Day School and Central High School.
 
On Sept. 3, 1954, she was united in marriage to Harlan Morris Lewis by the Rev. R. Gurgel at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. The couple made their home in Belle Plaine, Norwood Young America and Glencoe. Their marriage was blessed with one daughter, Carol Ann. The couple shared over 38 years of marriage before Mr. Lewis’ death on July 27, 1993.
 
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Mrs. Lewis worked at Young America Corporation in Norwood Young America in housekeeping. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe.
 
Mrs. Lewis was a happy person. She loved visiting, gardening and listening to WCCO radio. She cherished the time spent with her family and friends.
 
She is survived by relatives and friends.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Wilhelmine Lenzen; husband, Harlan Lewis; daughter, Carol Lewis; and siblings, Raymond Lenzen, Elaine Elling and an infant brother.
