Filings for candidacy open for state, county

McLeod County Commissioner Doug Krueger announced Monday that he is filing for candidacy for a second term as the District 2 commissioner. District 2 includes the cities of Glencoe and Plato, and Glencoe and Helen townships. Krueger also said that, if elected, this will be his final term.
Filings opened Tuesday for federal, state and county offices, and will remain open through Tuesday, June 5, at 5 p.m.
The other county commissioner seat up for election is that in District 5, which is currently served by Joe Nagel. District 5 includes the townships of Acoma and Hutchinson, and Precinct 2 of the city of Hutchinson.
Other county seats up for election are county attorney, currently held by Mike Junge; county-auditor treasurer, currently held by interim auditor-treasurer Connie Kurtzweg, who also has announced her candidacy; county recorder, which is currently LynEtte Schrupp; and county sheriff, which is currently Scott Rehmann. Rehmann also has announced his intention to run again.
There are two Soil and Water supervisor seats that will be up for election: District 1 includes the townships of Bergen and Winsted and the cities of Lester Prairie and Winsted; and District 2, which includes the townships of Glencoe and Helen and the cities of Glencoe and Plato.
Also up for election will be state representative for District 18A and District 18B, held by Dean Urdahl, R-Grove City, and Glenn Gruenhagen, R-Glencoe, respectively.
