Football played the right way; may best team win
To the Editor:
Just a note from a high school football fan/father. My two younger sons play for St. Croix Lutheran High School, and my guess is our teams will meet in the near future.
While we’ve never played GSL before during my sons’ time at SCLHS, nonetheless, we hold your team in very high regard.
Our coach often holds GSL as an example of how high school football should be coached and played. Play hard, play tough, be disciplined, assignment sure on blocking, sound gap defense, and RUN the ball.
Do it so well that even if your opponent knows it’s coming they can’t stop it.
While GSL benchmarks this approach, we play the same way.
Glencoe is a special place for me. Since I was a child, our family reunions were held down in that area. When my older son went to state for track, we saw a top athlete/hurdler from the area with a familiar last name.
Anyway, looking forward to a tough, hard fought game that will be played the way football was meant to be played.
Take care, good luck, and may the best team win!
