Frieda R. Hennessey, 87, of Glencoe

Frieda Ruth (Fischer) Hennessey, 87, of Glencoe, died Nov. 2, 2017, at her home.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 6, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe with the Rev. Daniel Welch officiating. Dawn Wolter was the organist. Congregational hymns were “Amazing Grace,” “On Eagle’s Wings” and “Abide With Me.”
Casket bearers were Wayne Hennessey, Joshua Hennessey, Michael Hennessey, Randy Thiel, Julane Breems and Dennis Fischer. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Frieda Ruth Hennessey was born Aug. 27, 1930, in Litchfield, the daughter of Anthony and Cordelia (Dahlmann) Fischer. She was baptized as an infant on Sept. 21, 1930, and was confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 29, 1945, both by W.G. Voigt at Evangelical Lutheran Church in McLeod County. She received her education in Litchfield, graduating with the Litchfield High School class of 1948.
She was blessed with four sons, Alan, Keith, Gary and Brian. In 1959, she made her home in Glencoe.
In addition to being a loving mother and homemaker, she worked at First Evangelical Lutheran School as a cook, Glencoe Hospital in housekeeping and sewed for people through the years. She was a faithful member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe.
She enjoyed puzzles, sewing costumes for Glencoe Days, listening to Bandwagon and watching the Minnesota Twins and Lynx. She valued spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she cared for deeply.
She is survived by her sons, Alan Hennessey (significant other Diane McCormick) of Shakopee, Keith Hennessey (significant other Liz Johnson) of Plato, Gary Hennessey of Brooklyn Center and Brian (wife Tammy) Hennessey of Prescott, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Kay (Josh) Woodworth of Durango, Colorado, Wayne Hennessey of Hutchinson, Michael Hennessey of Glencoe, Joshua Hennessey of Hutchinson, Heather (Chris) Eiden of Glencoe, Heidi Hennessey of Glencoe and Amber (Shaun) Zigler of Hastings; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Hailey, Elijah, Tyson, Hannah, Josalee, Hailey, Corra, Karter, Khloe, Jaeden, Dawsen, Amelia and Zaciya; siblings, Gladys Olson of Kimball and Jean (Fritz) Best of Glenwood City, Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Helen Fischer of Glencoe; brother-in-law, Roger Olson of Cokato; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Cordelia Fischer; daughter-in-law, Sue Hennessey; granddaughter, Kari Ann Hennessey; great-grandson, Hunter Freeman; and brothers and sisters-in-law, John and LaVerne Fischer, David and Marge Fischer and Fred Fischer.
