GFD chief OK after crash on way to call

Glencoe Fire Chief Cory Scheidt was not injured after he crashed into a county signpost Monday afternoon, Dec. 27, in Helen Township.
Scheidt was responding to a medical request for a lift assist around 1:21 p.m. Driving a city-owned 2008 Chevy Colorado pickup assigned to him for direct response to calls, Scheidt lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a ditch near the intersection of Dairy Avenue and 120th Street.
