Girls' cagers lost third in a row
The Glencoe-Silver Lake girls' basketball team tumbled to its third consecutive loss in its lone game last week, falling 64-56 to visiting Litchfield on Friday, Feb. 10.
It was the second-straight defeat against a team that the Panthers had defeated earlier this season. GSL won 81-68 at Litchfield on Jan. 13.
The Panthers led 31-30 at halftime, but the Dragons outscored the hosts 34-25 over the second stanza to claim the eight-point win. It was Litchfield's seventh-straight victory and its first win against GSL since the closing game of the 2015 season.
The loss dropped the Panthers to 12-10 overall and 5-5 in Wright County Conference West play. Litchfield surged past GSL and into third place in the conference standings with the win.
The Panthers entered the week clinging to fourth place in the WCC West race, one-half game ahead of Annandale, which has a game in hand on GSL.
