Girls' golf hosts meet
The Glencoe-Silver Lake girls’ golf team finished sixth in the second Wright County Conference West meet of the season at Burl Oaks Golf Club in Minnetrista on Tuesday, April 18.
Grace Kosek led the Panthers with a nine-hole score of 55, good for 15th place overall. Aubrey Giesen carded a 60 for 23rd, while Kenady Rosckes shot a 64 and Ellie Schmidt a 71 for 31st and 40th.
GSL is in sixth place in the conference standings after two meets, with the five-member team posting a combined score of 484.
The Panthers hosted a five-team invitational meet on Thursday, April 20, at Glencoe Country Club. GSL tallied a team score of 507, led by Kosek’s score of 113 over 18 holes. Rosckes posted a 128, Giesen a 132, Maddy Brown a 134 and Schmidt a 147.
GSL was scheduled to compete in a WCC West meet on Tuesday, April 25, after the Chronicle went to press.
The Panthers are slated to play in an invitational meet at Little Crow Golf Course in New London on Friday.
