Girls' golf nears sectionals

With the close of the regular season coming up fast, the Glencoe-Silver Lake girls’ golf team competed in a trio of meets over the past week. Just two more remain on the schedule before the Section 2AA Tournament begins at the New Prague Golf Course on Friday, May 26.

Glencoe Country Club hosted the Wright County Conference West for two meets in one on Wednesday, May 10.

The Panthers finished eighth in the “Front 9” competition, with Kenady Rosckes leading the way by placing 14th with a card of 50. Maddy Brown posted a 62, Aubrey Giesen a 64 and Grace Kosek a 66.

On the “Back 9” competition, Kosek topped the Panthers with a 57. Brown and Rosckes each scored a 61, with Giesen putting up a 67.

Shamrock Golf Course in Rockford hosted the eighth WCC West meet of the year on Friday, May 12. Rosckes again led the way with a 52, followed by Brown at 56, Kosek at 57 and Giesen at 58.
