Girls squad ready to roll on track and in the field

They’re younger and deeper – and there are more of them. The Glencoe-Silver Lake girls track and field team has entered the 2015 season with numbers in the upper 30s, leading to more hands on deck to compete across a broad spectrum of events.
Youth will be served this season, as only five seniors dot the roster.
The bulk of this year’s squad hails from seventh to tenth grade. With that youth will come a lot of adjusting as team members are molded and shaped into roles that best serve their talents as well as benefit the team as a whole.
“We’re going to be a work in progress as the season goes,” coach Robb DeCorsey said. “There’ll be changes in relay lineups and look at girls running in events that maybe they don’t want to do, but will be gently persuaded.”
