Glencoe to participate in the Blandin leadership program

Glencoe is one of eight communities selected to participate in the 2019 Blandin Community Leadership Program, and is now in the process of recruiting 24 community members. Recruiting will go on until Dec. 3 and the week-long leadership training will be held Feb. 11-15 at Sugar Lake Lodge near Grand Rapids.
Becky Adams, leadership recruitment manager, explained the program at Monday night’s Glencoe City Council meeting.
The program began over 30 years ago and has helped provide intensive leadership training to over 7,000 rural community leaders in Minnesota.
Adams said the 24 Glencoe area people selected by Blandin to participate will be “representative of the community.” The recruits should provide gender balance, age balance and ethnic diversity, she added.
