Golfers put finishing touches on season
The season came to a close for the Glencoe-Silver Lake golf teams with the conclusion of the Section 5AA tournament at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker. Neither the girls’ nor boys’ teams advanced to the second round of the 36-hole competition that was held over two days, beginning on Thursday, May 28, and concluding on Monday.
One member of the girls squad, Ashlyn Ratike, advance to individual competition on Day Two, while the team finished Thursday with a total score of 424. The boys wrapped up their year on Day One with a team score of 400.
Ratike put the finishing touches on her high school career by carding a 96 on Monday after leading GSL with a 101 last Thursday.
Juniors Dylan Schuth and Mitchell Beneke led the Panthers on a sunny and windy round last Thursday, carding a 97 and a 100, respectively.
