GSL’s Schuth, Meyer earn all-conference

Glencoe-Silver Lake boys’ golfers Riley Schuth and Zach Meyer both earned All-Wright County Conference West honors after each finished in the top 12 of the final conference individual standings.
The pair clinched their all-conference berths at the final WCC West meet of the season at Timber Creek Golf Course on Tuesday, May 14.
GSL placed fourth as a team at the meet, led by Jacob Schrupp’s 39.
Schuth carded a 42, Damien Silus a 43 and Meyer a 44 to round out the team score of 168.
Reid Coon-Gore and Derek Trippel each scored a 46 at the meet.
Schuth, a sophomore, placed eighth in the final WCC West individual standings with 329 total strokes this spring. Meyer, a freshman, totaled 333 strokes to take 11th.
As a team, the Panthers placed fifth in the final conference standings with 1,724 total strokes. Mound Westonka won the WCC West title with 1,638 strokes.
GSL finished off the regular season with an eighth-place finish in the two-day, 12-team, Dassel-Cokato Invitational at Oakdale Golf Club.
The Panthers carded a 710 over 36 holes, led by Schuth’s 171.
Trippel had a 177 and Meyer a 180, while Silus and Schrupp tied at 182. Coon-Gore notched a 188.
