GSL aims to douse fire in section volleyball playoffs

The Panthers open what they hope is an extended playoff run tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 28, at home when Holy Family comes to Glencoe. GSL enters the Section 2AA’s north subsection portion of postseason play as Section 2AA’s No. 3 seed. GSL topped Holy Family, the No. 6 seed, 3-1, Sept. 9 at GSL. The Panthers are 16-11 overall, 4-3 at home and 4-1 against teams in their section. The Fire is 11-11-1 overall and 2-2 against section opponents. Holy Family is 4-5-1 on the road.
The winner of the GSL-Holy Family match will take on the winner of the No. 2 Belle Plaine vs. No. 7 Le Sueur-Henderson match Monday, Nov. 1, 7:45 p.m., at New Prague High School.
