GSL boys' hoop just five seconds from 3-0
The Glencoe-Silver Lake boys’ basketball team was just over five seconds away from being 3-0 after three games.
As it is, the Panthers entered this week at 1-2.
“When you lose games that close, one play makes a difference,” coach Robb DeCorsey said. “There’s so many ‘what-ifs,’ because even playing as poorly as we have been, we’re still just a play or two from being 3-0.”
Six nights after losing by one point to Hutchinson on a Tigers’ game-winning shot with two seconds to play, GSL was gutted once again by Sibley East.
The Wolverines, who trailed the host Panthers by as many as eight points in the second half, sank their deciding shot with 3.5 seconds remaining en route to a 51-50 victory on Thursday, Dec. 3.
