SCHOOL BOARD MEETING MINUTES
GLENCOE-SILVER LAKE SCHOOLS - INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT #2859 DATE: November 9, 2020 TIME 7:00 p.m.
PLACE: GSL Schools Community Room #443/444

Board Chair Alsleben called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. The following board members were present: Alsleben, Lindeman, Lemke, Luckhardt, and VonBerge, absent; Kuester; Superintendent Chris Sonju; Business Manager Michelle Sander; GSL Technology Staff Mike Morris; McLeod County Chronicle John Mueller.
The next regular School Board meeting will be on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. in the GSL HS Community Room (#443/444), following the Truth in Taxation meeting at 6:00 p.m.
The Board Approved the consent agenda; Hiring’s: Colt Trebesch 7th grade Boys Basketball Coach, Brittany Buchman JR/SR High Paraprofessional Classroom Supervisor, Randy Wilson Long Term Sub Music Teacher,
Kelly Otto Long Term Sub 2nd Grade Teacher, Abigail Ogren Long Term Sub 3rd Grade Teacher, Chantell Rau JR/SR High Paraprofessional Study Hall Supervisor. Resignations: Amy Molva Lincoln Elementary Title 1 Paraprofessional. Leave Requests: Carrie Knot FMLA November 20, 2020 to December 22, 2020,
Shelia Hustad FMLA extension to February 1, 2021. Transfers: Linda Urban Lincoln Special Ed Paraprofessional transfer to Lincoln Title 1 Paraprofessional, Tanner Schafer Girls Basketball C Squad coach transfer to 7th and 8th grade Girls Basketball.
The Board approved the following: GSL seniority list for 2020-2021; adopt SEIU Local #284 seniority list for 2020-2021; Audit summary and financial statements for the 2019-2020 school years as prepared by CliftonLarsonAllen, LLP; Designate the Glencoe City Center as the combined polling place and setting the voting hours between the hours of 10:00 am. and 8:00 p.m.; Calendar changes to the 2020-2021 school calendar for adjustments to a K-12 Hybrid Learning Model and to meet the requirements of the Governor’s Executive order for November.
The Board will bring back the following policies for adoption at the next School Board meeting: 422, 522, 702, 703, 704, 705, 706, 708, 709, 712.
The following donations were accepted with appreciation; New Auburn VFW Post 7266,$150, FFA; Taylor Lepel Memorial Fund IPAD and 4 Volleyballs Volleyball Program; Midwest Machinery Co. $500 FFA.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
