SCHOOL BOARD MEETING MINUTES GLENCOE-SILVER LAKE SCHOOLS -INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT #2859
DATE: April 11, 2022
TIME: 6:00 p.m.
PLACE: GSL Schools Community
Room #443/444
Board Chair Lindeman called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. The following board members were present: Alsleben, Christianson, Lemke, Lindeman, and Luckhardt. Director VonBerge was absent. In addition, Superintendent Chris Sonju; Business Manager Michelle Sander; Principal’s Bill Butler; Assistant Principal Joy Freitag; Administrative Assistant Trisha Zajicek; GSL Technology Staff Mike Morris; High School Spanish Teacher Ashley Braun; County Chronicle Karin Ramige.
The Board Approved the consent agenda and addendum to the consent agenda; Hiring’s: Natalie Nelson – Junior High Math Teacher; Resignations: Jared Saunders – High School Science Teacher, Tess Dalbec – Early Childhood Special Ed Teacher, Jeff Iverson – National Honor Society Advisor, Barb Champion – Junior/Senior DHH Interpreter, Stacy Palmer – Junior/Senior Business Teacher & BPA Advisor; Terminations: Megan Sweeney – Lakeside Paraprofessional Special Ed, Kathleen Schultz – Junior/Senior High DHH/DCD Paraprofessional; Leave Requests: Alicia Beste – Leave Absence extension until May 9, 2022, Lisa Blazinski – Intermittent FMLA starting March 23, 2022.
The Board approved the following: 12 day trip abroad in June 2024 to Costa Rica, Panama, and Colombia; Close-Up trip to Washington, D.C. during the 2022-2023 school year; 2 week ECFE/School Readiness Interim Sub Coordinator contract.
Board adopted the following policies 101, 410, 522, 616, 801, 805, 901, 902, 904, 905, 906, 907, 907.1.
The following donations were accepted with appreciation; Silver Lake Lions Club – Gaga Pit, 2 Benches, and Picnic Tables to the Lakeside Elementary School.
Meeting was adjourned at 6:39 p.m.
