GSL sending five to state track and field meet
Glencoe-Silver Lake will be represented by four boys and one girl at the state Class A track and field meet this weekend after Panthers competitors qualified in four total events at the Section 2A championship meet in Mankato on Saturday, May 29.
In the sectional team competition, the 12-man GSL boys contingent finished in a three-way tie for eighth with 41 points, while the 10–member Panthers girls squad placed 10th with 40 points.
Zoe Christensen is headed to state after winning the section shot put title. Jac Chelman won the section 3200-meter run title and is headed to state, as is Brandon Richter, who placed second in the 800-meter run at the 2A meet. Joining Richter and Chelman at state are Garret Ardolf and Michael Schaefer; the four will run the 4x800-meter relay after logging a state-qualifying time at sections.
