GSL spring sports are in full force

After a very delayed spring, the spring sports teams are making up for lost time many times with multiple games or meets per day.

Girls Golf
The girls golf team took first place Monday in a nine-team invitational with a score of 407.
Eva Stuewe placed second overall with a score of 88, Alyssa Radke and Bree Ryherd tied for 15th place with a score of 109. Reagan Feltmann finished with a score of 109 tying for 18th place. Jadyn Stuewe finished with a score of 116.
Coach Mike Hardy said conditions were perfect with light winds, sunshine and 70 degrees.
The team took first place on the “Rock” course at Albion Ridges Golf Course and third on the “Granite” course Thursday, May 4. Brooke Brown (52), Bree Ryherd (51), Jadyn Stuewe (52), and Reagan Feltmann (51) all shot their low round of the season on the “Rock” course.
Overall for the season, Alyssa Radke is ranked 12th out of 50 golfers in the Wright County Conference West individual standings. Eva Stuewe is leading the conference with her steady play, Hardy said.
As a team, the girls are sitting in 4th place for the season.
Softball
The Panther Softball team has gone undefeated this week. They took a late lead to defeat Annandale 7-6 Monday, May 1.
They won both games in a double header against New London-Spicer 16-3 and 12-1, Thursday, May 4.
Rained out Friday, May 5, they played three games Saturday, May 6 in a Mankato tournament where they shut out each team. GSL 21, St. Clair/Loyola 0; GSL 22, Gibbon Fairfax Winthrop 0 and GSL 5, Watertown Mayer 0.

Baseball
The baseball team had a bit of an off week. They fell to Annandale 4-2 May 1. They fought hard, but fell short against Maple Lake 7-6 and dropped two against New London-Spicer, 9-4 and 13-4 May 4.
